A Proven Leader
Doug Wright’s unique combination of private sector success and proven government leadership sets him apart from all others in the race for Indialantic town council.
Born to a military family in Texas, Doug graduated from Georgia Tech with an aerospace engineering degree and earned a masters degree in systems engineering at Florida Institute of Technology.
Doug has worked at L3Harris for 23 years. As a chief systems engineer, Doug leads multi-disciplinary teams solving complex problems for commercial and government customers.
Doug is the only candidate who’s served on an Indialantic town board or committee. He was first nominated to the Board of Adjustment in 2003 and has served as chairman since 2012
Timing Matters for Indialantic
There is no substitute for the ability to perform a job from day one. While others will have to learn about town government, Doug can hit the ground running.
Right now is a very important moment in our community. Consider:
- This November Dick Dunn and Randy Greer, two exceptional and long-standing community leaders, depart from the council
- As of July, we have a new town manager that has a large workload to perform to the level of our previous town manager of 19 years
- The council member who won Randy Greer’s seat has experience on a town committee, yet, she lacks experience on a town board
- Simon Kemp, a dedicated council member, is learning about town governance as he is about to enter year two of his service
I have confidence that council members will serve residents well. At the same time, I am keenly aware that it takes time and effort to come up-to-speed on how our town operates, town code, wise legal stances for ordinances and how to problem-solve for new issues that come before the council.
With my 16 years experience on the Board of Adjustment, I am uniquely qualified to serve Indialantic residents.
